SubSea Engineering Pte Ltd

Hawksford Singapore interviewed Mr. Murray Blom – the co-founder of SubSea Engineering Pte Ltd – to learn more about his experience with setting up a firm in Singapore:

Tell us about SubSea Engineering Pte Ltd.

SubSea Engineering Pte Ltd is a niche design house that develops electronic and software solutions for the offshore Oil and Gas industry. We also provide consulting service for the implementation of subsea solutions. We have developed a range of video and LED lighting products using the latest technology to provide our customers with the best equipment on the market and custom designed software. The user friendly interfaces of our solutions enable our customers to install and use the equipment with a minimum learning curve.

Why did you start a business in Singapore?

Singapore is the base for the offshore oil and gas industry in the Far East; hence it is the most logical place to base our company.

How did Hawksford Singapore help you along the way?

Hawksford Singapore has been instrumental in supporting our business by providing not only the accounting expertise needed by our company but also as an interface to the government, keeping us up to date with all regulations and making sure that all paperwork that is needed to be filed is done so in a timely manner. We would recommend Hawksford Singapore as an indispensible asset for any startup considering a venture in Singapore.

What has your experience been working with Hawksford Singapore?

From the start the staff at Hawksford Singapore has taken a personal interest in our company with a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude. This sort of attitude is most appreciated as we came to Hawksford Singapore after our former Corporate Services provider completely failed to provide for our needs, combining poor accounting with missed deadlines and outright fabrications.

What are your plans in the future for your company?

We want to become one of the major players in the subsea solutions arena. Our sales are growing and we are moving into bigger premises’ in January next year. We expect to soon be investing in our own manufacturing facility to enable us to both prototype and produce product with a shorter development lead times.
