The National Healthcare Group (NHG), a leading public healthcare group in Singapore, will conduct its culminating medical and scientific meeting – the NHG Annual Scientific Congress 2008 this November 7-8, 2008 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Now on its 7th year as one of the celebrated events in the healthcare calendar of Singapore, the theme for this year’s medical congress is “Science, Medicine and Lifestyle – Impact on Tomorrow’s Health”. The theme encompasses the importance of science and medicine and translating it into our lifestyle as a holistic approach in “Adding Years of Healthy Life”, – the NHG’s long-running vision.
The NHG Annual Scientific Congress 2008 will highlight a wide-range of topics such as Lifestyle and Health, Lifestyle Diseases, Lifestyle Medicine, and Career and Medicine. Discussions on Basic Science, Clinical Science, Medical IT, and Health Services and Outcomes will be explored, as well as the impact to general health and lifestyle with conditions like cancer, infections, neurological, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
This medical meeting will round up Singapore’s healthcare professionals, medical specialists, allied health professionals, health administrators, medical technology professionals, researchers, scientists, and the academe in its best efforts to explore and exchange key trends in healthcare. In addition, leading international authorities will participate as key speakers in plenary sessions and symposia – a major venue for sharing ideas, strategies, experiences and best practices in the field of healthcare.
The NHG Annual Scientific Congress started in the year 2002. Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest scientific meetings in Singapore consistently attended by the local healthcare community, as well as attracting an increasing number of participants from other parts of Asia and the Pacific region. In 2006, over 2,500 delegates from Singapore and overseas were expected by the NHG to participate in the medical congress. In 2007, it welcomed 3,500 delegates both local and international. This year, the NHG ASC 2008 secretariat is readily expecting more.
