New advertising guidelines on Jobs Bank: what do you need to know?

The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) released new guidelines on Jobs Bank advertisements for Employment Pass application which took effect on 2 October 2017.

What are the requirements?

Before you can apply for an Employment Pass (EP), here are some of Jobs Bank advertising requirements;

  • Your advertisement must posted for at least 14 days before your EP application.
  • From 2 October 2017, the JobsBank portal allows you to change the advertisement details (eg: occupation or salary), however if you do so, you must leave the revised advertisement posted for at least 14 days from the date of change.
  • The salary range must be shown to job seekers and cannot be hidden.

The changes which took effect on Monday 2 October are immediate and ongoing and mean that employers should anticipate the authorities’ careful review of job postings to ensure the new rules are being followed.

Any exceptions?

The new guidelines are only mandatory for companies with at least 25 employees and above.

What else is new?

The change also coincided with Jobs Bank merging with MySkillsFuture website meaning that anyone visiting Jobs Bank will be redirected to MySkillsFuture website. All information saved on Jobs Bank including company profiles, job postings and job applications will be transferred to MySkillsFuture which means employers do not need to take any immediate action.
