Option 1: Company Setup without Relocation to Singapore

If you wish to incorporate a company but have no plans to relocate to Singapore in the immediate future, you are not required to apply for any relocation visa. You can incorporate a Singapore company and run it from overseas. Note however that a Singapore company must have at least one local director which means that you may require the services of a nominee director from the professional services company you hire for handling your company incorporation matters.

Option 2: Company Setup and Relocation to Singapore

If you wish to incorporate a company and move to Singapore, you will need to accomplish two main tasks: incorporate a Singapore company and obtain a work visa to Singapore. You have the choice of applying for an Employment Pass or Entrepreneur Pass.

Which work visa should you apply?

• Apply for Employment Pass if you have good education and professional experience. Good education means at least a bachelor's degree from a reputable university. The better the degree, the lesser the importance of professional experience and vice-versa.
• Apply for Entrepreneur Pass if you don't have good education but have successful prior entrepreneurial experience.
