Janus interviewed Mr. Robert Tibbs – the CEO and President of Lotaris Pte Ltd – to learn more about his experience with incorporating a company in Singapore:

Tell us about Lotaris Pte Ltd.

Lotaris is headquartered in Switzerland, with regional offices in Asia, USA and the Middle East. We are focused on developing mobile applications for “smartphones” and other Internet connected mobile devices.

Lotaris has developed and brought to market the most intuitive user experience, together with the most flexible business environment for delivery, management, and payment of applications on “smart mobile devices” globally.

What got you interested in starting your business in Singapore?

The Asian Market represents a very high growth environment for mobile applications and mobile Internet usage. In addition to our office in Tokyo, which focuses on the Japanese and Korean markets, we felt Singapore was the best place in the heart of the greater Asia Pacific Region to expand our business. We were also attracted by Singapore’s receptivity to new and emerging technologies.

How did Janus help you along the way?

Janus helped us set up our company and bank account seamlessly. Janus also obtained the first work and residence permits for our expat staff. With Janus’ help, we were to launch our Singapore office and get it running well within our targeted timeframe. In addition, Janus has been an excellent resource for various forms of miscellaneous information and guidance about Singapore. We also use the tax and corporate administrative services that Janus provides us on an ongoing basis thereby enabling us to focus on our business.

What has your experience been working with Janus?

Our experience has been simply excellent! Everyone we have interacted with has been very competent, efficient and friendly. Responses to our questions were immediate and well-informed. And when issues arose Janus was able to solve them without delay.

We are greatly appreciative of the very high level of professionalism and knowledge that Janus staff has demonstrated.

What are your plans in the future for your company?

After experiencing the business friendly climate of Singapore, in addition to our Asia Pacific regional office, we have now relocated our Group CEO and Corporate Affairs to Singapore. In the future, we are evaluating the establishment of a regional technology center here. As we expand, we look forward to leveraging the local talent and resources that are experienced in the mobile applications technology to help us better serve our customers around the globe.
